Hon’ble Mrs. Justice Manisha Batra

Justice Manisha Batra was born on September 22, 1966 to Smt. Leela Chopra and Sh. Kishan Lal Chopra. Her father was an eminent lawyer in Faridabad and practised in Faridabad District Courts for over 50 years. She completed her Graduation from Dayanand College for Women, Faridabad in Bachelor of Arts in the year 1985 and was University rank holder for two consecutive years. She obtained her LLB degree from Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi in the year 1988 and was a top rank holder during most of this period. She practised as a lawyer in District Courts, Faridabad from 1988 to 1994 in the chambers of her father, Sh. Kishan Lal Chopra. As a lawyer, her main area of practice involved Civil and Revenue matters. She joined Haryana Judicial Services in the year 1994 as Civil Judge-cum-Judicial Magistrate at Bhiwani. She was the first ever female Judicial Officer in District Bhiwani and then at Sub Divisional Courts, Bahadurgarh, District Rohtak. She was promoted to Haryana Superior Judiciary as Additional & Sessions Judge in February 2008. She was promoted as District & Sessions Judge in the year 2014 and held that post for over 8 years. She was elevated as an Additional Judge of Punjab & Haryana High Court on November 02, 2022.
